About the Presenter:
Dr. Banihashemi is a 5th year resident at the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Toronto and will be completing his residency in June 2009. Prior to his residency, he completed his Masters Degree in Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa. During his residency he has been privileged to simultaneously develop his clinical skills and be involved in different research projects with focus on medical imaging and its application in radiation treatment guidance as well as real-time assessment of treatment response. Behzad has published his research in well respected journals and presented his work at national and international meetings including at the 2007, 2008 ASTRO and 2007, 2008 CARO conferences. he has been also awarded the Department of Radiation Oncology Chair’s Award, University of Toronto, 2007; for Academic Excellence in Research by a Postgraduate trainee. Dr. Banihashemi has recently been awarded and participated in the “10th ECCO-AACR-ASCO Workshop Fellowship in clinical research” in Flims, Switzerland.
