About the Presenter:
Dr. Cardarelli earned his PhD in Medical Physics at the University of Massachusetts–Lowell and the MPH at Boston University School of Public Health. A Registered Radiation Physicist with the Rhode Island Department of Health, he is certified in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the Amercan Board of Radilogy. Dr. Cardarelli is licensed in the State of Texas in Diagnostic, Therapeutic, and Medical Health Physics. Joining the Department of Radiation Oncology at Rhode Island Hospital in 1993, he was appointed a Research Associate at the Medical School of Brown University in 1998 and is currently an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology. He holds additional academic appointments as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Massachusetts – Lowell campus and at the Tufts University School of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Cardarelli is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Physics (ACMP), the Chair of its Membership and Public Relations Committees, the New England Region Representative-Elect to the ACMP Board of Chancellors and the current President of the New England Chapter of Americal Assoication of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). Dr. Cardarelli’s research interests include Partial Breast Brachytherapy, Radiofrequency Ablation, Biological Modeling, Electronic Brachytherapy, and Interface Dosimetry.
