Abstract # 1023 Improved Disease Specific and Overall Survival in Patients with Early Stage Low Grade Follicular Lymphoma Treated with External Beam Radiation: A Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Analysis

Conclusions:
This is the largest analysis of patients with early stage low grade FL. Despite the indolent nature of this disease, these data document that initial therapy with EBRT dramatically reduces deaths due to FL decades later (absolute decrease of 13% at 10 years), for which salvage therapies cannot compensate. Despite this relationship, utilization of EBRT has been greatly underutilized in the US patient population.
